Thoughts..

As many of you know I created this app as a passion project. I'm a huge Nintendo fan and I've been following Nintendo's download services since Wiiware. I've felt that finding info for these services hasn't been easy. Many sites barely acknowledge download games. Some such as Nintendolife have done a great job covering them but even they don't everything not to mention nobody has really done much with mobile. That's why I made this app.

I have other apps which make much more money while requiring much less effort. They have allowed me to make this. I created eShop Companion about 9 months ago and so far I'm still in the negative on it. I'm finally making a tiny short term profitt but it would take about a year of that profit to make the app purely profitable.

I'm going to continue ahead with my plans for a few months and see what happens, but if things don't improve I don't know if I can justify the work that goes into it much longer.

I know there a few dedicated fans but I don't really think people are that interested.Which leads me to believe that maybe there's no need for this app, or that I don't have what it takes to create a community.

Oh well, those are just some thoughts I had. I'll see what happens, I've been surprised before. I'm going to at least go for a year. I do appreciate the support I have had though. It means a lot.

If you can enable forum members to donate can you make a good profit more faster!

It's going okay. Growth has actually been negative lately but I'm not losing a lot of people. More like 5 a day. I'm sure it will work out. I'm going to be doing some advertising soon. Although I'm not sure if I'm going to bother with any user features. Participation is really low. You know how the forums are and even the poll only gets 30-80 votes with around 1300 users out there.

How much would it cost to advertise on NL?

I have an idea. Tell Nintendo Life about it and they might interview you! They eat that stuff up.

Yeah that's an idea. I'm kind of afraid they'd view me as a competitor (which I'm not) and not be very nice to me though. I do love Nintendo Life though and think they are the best website at covering Nintendo downloads.

If you don't mind you can try. It may help. Yeah, although we share some features like download announcements, my app is a different thing. Their site isn't very mobile friendly, and they don't keep track of deals. That's mainly why my app exists.
